Started in Chicagoland, IL, Asian Student Achievement (ASA) is a growing non-profit 501(c)3 organization specializing in professional development for students and professionals. Our mission is to move Asians and Asian Americans through the pipeline to leadership positions and increase workforce diversity.

Projects you can be a part of:

  • Fundraising mentorship
    • How to fundraise
    • Teaching Return on Investment (ROI)
    • When/how to make an ask for a gift (also willing to/comfortable with making asks)
  • Research/prospecting
    • Finding leads for ASA partnerships/fundraising opportunities
    • Networking
  • Event planning (case-by-case, would prefer Chicago-based volunteers but open to remote)
  • Grant writing

Requirements:

  • Willing to commit to an estimated 8-10 hrs/month.
  • We ask that communications responses are within 24 to 28 hours.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Basic networking skills and command of conversational skills for interaction with clients and teammates in remote settings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Non-compete clause: While working for ASA, you are not allowed to volunteer with any competing organization or company that offers our business plan.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and other Google productivity software.
  • Basic networking skills and command of conversational skills for interaction with clients and teammates.
  • Any prior experience(s) or similar part-time job(s).
